UKVI Fee Increases Effective 8 April 2026

The Home Office has confirmed that a wide range of visa, settlement and nationality fees will increase from 8 April 2026. These changes affect almost every route, including visit visas, work visas, student visas, settlement (ILR), citizenship and sponsor licences.

The official update was published on 18 March 2026 in the Home Office fee table.
Additional reporting from international and UK immigration news outlets confirms these increases, with most fees rising 6–7%.

Below is a simplified breakdown for clients and employers.

Why Are Fees Increasing?

According to the Home Office:

  • The increases reflect inflation‑linked adjustments

  • The changes shift the immigration system further toward a “user-pays” model, meaning applicants and employers cover more of the costs of processing applications.

Anyone applying on or after 8 April 2026 will be subject to the new rates.
Applications submitted before this date will still be charged at the pre‑increase rates.
